Wess is a the balding father of Duster, The Thief. You can consider Wess a wise protector of Tazmilly Village, and has a deep hatred for Fassad and his ideas to change the town. He considers Duster a moron because of him messing around ever now and then. After accompanying Duster through Osohe Castle, Wess meets up with Princess Kumatora, princess of the castle. Wess seemingly likes Kumatora more than his own son. But on the inside, Wess is a kindhearted man.

He rivals Fassad's usefulness as a guest character, Because of his good attack power. He makes odd trinkets known as "Theif Tools" for aiding him in his missions, And then passing them on to Duster. He also makes Thunder bombs, Which he hides in a box behind his House. He chooses when to fill it, But in reality he is motivated to refill it when someone approaches the Crossroads.

Wess is the first person seen to do the Osohe Dance, the next being Salsa.
